Hit musical Sister Act is coming to Bolton as an acclaimed theatre group stage the production. Walmsley Church Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society will bring the comedy hit to Walmsley Parish Hall Theatre in April and May. The musical comedy, based on the hit 1992 film, concerns disco diva Deloris Van Cartier as she witnesses a murder and is then put in protective custody, in "the one place the cops are sure she won't be found" - a convent.
Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with the convent's rigid lifestyle and with Mother Superior. Using her unique talents to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so, blows her cover, leading to further trouble.
