Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at a nearly 150-year-old home in Rochester on Saturday. The fire tore through the barn of a house on Portland Street in the city, which was once part of a sprawling farm. "This is the house that my great, great grandfather built, and it's 1875 that it was built.

He built it so he and his wife could get married here," said homeowner Becky Stuart. >> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play << The barn had to be leveled but firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the other side of the building so the other half of the historic structure is expected to be saved. "There's no fire damage and no water damage in the structure, so that's a total save," said Rochester fire chief Dennis Dube.

No one was hurt and the Rochester Fire Department and New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office are working together to investigate what caused the fire..
