Hundreds of truck drivers participated in this campaign on the first day, making this event a major success. New Delhi: The Highway Heroes campaign, the special initiative started jointly by Shriram Finance and TV9 Network had a grand start at Ajwa Parking, Mithi Rohar, Gandhidham on Friday. The objective of this campaign is to honour the truck driver across the country, and also to improve their health and lifestyle.
Hundreds of truck drivers participated in this campaign on the first day, making this event a major success. Deputy SP, Deepak R. Bhatia was the chief guest on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion was Nilesh Oderadra, Joint MD of Shriram Finance. Bhatia inaugurated the campaign by cutting the ribbon and also praised the efforts of TV9 Network and Shriram Finance in conducting the event. Speaking at the event, he said, “I congratulate TV9 Network and Shriram Finance for this great campaign.
This initiative is for the welfare of truck driver brothers and we fully support this campaign on behalf of Kutch Police.” Addressing the event, Oderadra called truck drivers the backbone of the Indian economy and said that truck drivers play a major contribution to the progress of the country. “It is our responsibility to respect them, make them aware, and raise their status in the society,” he said.
The day witnessed several useful sessions The day also saw several useful sessions for truck drivers including a yoga Session, financial security session, and TB awareness session among others. The yoga session was conducted by trainers associated with The Yoga Institute. They taught some easy yoga exercises to the truck drivers, which help provide relief to the body after a long journey and can also be done for mental peace.
Princy Kardani, who was from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) discussed proper planning of money, protection from cyber fraud, and precautions for online transactions. Truck drivers were provided tips for investing money in mutual funds and safe investments. Click for more latest India news .
