The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is advising the public that a person who has been designated a “high-risk offender” is out in the community. Brent Miles Hansen, 29, has been released from custody and is continuing to serve a three-year sentence in the community for sexual assault. “Hansen has a history of sexually offending against females that he has opportunistically met using dating apps and social media.

Police believe he poses a significant risk of harm to the community,” says LPS. “He is bound by conditions not to own, use or possess any technological device that would allow access to the internet, unless approved.” They say Hansen has been assessed as an above-average risk to re-offend and is being monitored by the LPS High Risk Offenders Unit.

He is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 5’7′′, 146 lbs, and has short brown hair and hazel eyes. “The Lethbridge Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform members of the community of the residency of Brent Hansen. Police believe there is a significant risk to public safety.

” The public is asked to take suitable precautionary measures when it comes to Hansen and to not engage in any form of vigilante action..
