Brad Barber had himself a day, netting six goals to lead Springfield to a 13-3 nonleague win over St. Joseph’s Prep Saturday. Tommy Rush was nearly automatic at the faceoff X, winning 19 of 20 draws.
Ty Henderson added a hat trick and chipped in an assist, while Luke Valerio contributed a goal and two assists for the Cougars. Evan DiBlasi, Jared Kennedy and Tommy Toomey each found the back of the net once to round out the scoring. Goalie Jackson Kennedy made six saves.
In the Inter-Ac League: Haverford School 8, Springside Chestnut Hill 7 >> Evan Large led the Fords with three goals and two assists, while Reed Campbell and Finn French both scored twice. Goalie Colin Decker made 13 saves. Girls Lacrosse Kallee Clark netted the gamewinner with under 30 seconds left in regulation, lifting Archbishop Carroll to a 10-9 nonleague victory over Maryland’s Roland Park Day School.
Claire Sexton brought the Patriots even at 9-9 late in the fourth quarter, setting the stage for Clark’s clutch finish. The game-winning sequence was sparked by Riley Formica, who forced a turnover and secured the ground ball to initiate the transition. Clark tallied a hat trick to lead the offense, while Sexton, Greta Potten and Kate O’Neill each added two goals.
Penncrest 8, Manheim Twp. 7 >> Goalies Reese Wickman (five saves) had a big stop in the waning seconds to seal the win for the Lions. Cara Childs registered a hat trick and Reese Bigler and Kaitlyn Roth each had a pair of goals.
Unionville 13, Haverford 7 >> Maddie Shafer led the Fords in defeat, scoring three goals, while Paige Chadwin and Annie Porter both tallied twice. Lucy McCloskey notched 10 saves between the pipes. Twin Valley 14, Cardinal O’Hara 6 >> Fran Fazio recorded her 100th career goal, finishing the game with four, as the Lions fell to the reigning PIAA Class 2A runner-up.
Conestoga 9, Great Valley 6 >> Carolyn Jones and Georgia Rios each recorded a hat trick for the Pioneers (7-2). In the Inter-Ac League: Episcopal Academy 18, Springside Chestnut Hill 1 >> Teagan Cook produced two goals and six assists to help the Churchwomen to a rout. Kate Dente (two assists), Maura Irish, Quinn Whitaker, Caroline Johnston and Maeve Irish all scored a pair of goals.
Baseball Ryan Friel went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and Michael Coleman contributed two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs to lead Bonner & Prendergast to a 13-3 shellacking of Haverford School. Sergio Hernandez smacked a two-run triple for the Friars. Winning pitcher Joey Graziani and Owen Lockhart combined for eight strikeouts on the bump.
