Staff report HENDERSONVILLE — West Rowan’s volleyball season ended on Saturday with a 25-16, 25-12 and 25-8 loss at West Henderson in the third round of the 3A state playoffs. West Rowan, seeded 25th in the 3A 3A West bracket, had won on the road at Rockingham County and East Lincoln, but top-seeded West Henderson proved too strong. West Rowan started well and had some leads in the first set, but West Henderson took over midway through the set with 6-foot-3 middle blocker Emma Bryson, a University of Georgia commit, leading the way.
West Henderson (23-2) kept the momentum from there and will await a visit from fifth-seeded Carson in the fourth round. West Henderson hasn’t lost since Sept. 14.
After an 0-5 start, West Rowan finished head coach Tiffany Brooks’ first season with a 12-12 record..
