High School Football: Cards keep winning to stay perfect

STAPLES — Eli Rutten threw for two touchdowns and Colbe Tapp scored twice on the ground to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a 50-0 win over the Pine River-Backus Tigers Friday, Sept. 27. The win kept the Cardinals undefeated at 5-0.

Peyton Mithun and Turner Beachy caught the two touchdown passes from Rutten. Ben Tyrrell and Luke Bjerga each scored on the ground for the Cardinals. Gavin Chenoweth also returned an interception for touchdown.
