Filmmaker Vasan Bala might have made a tiny slip-up when he forgot to mention Shraddha Kapoor in his appreciation post for Stree 2, but Shraddha wasn’t holding any grudges. Instead, she was busy showering love on Vasan and Alia Bhatt for the teaser of their upcoming film, Jigra. And, in true Bollywood style, what could have been a full-blown drama turned into a heartwarming exchange with an apology thrown in for good measure.
The moment unfolded when Shraddha took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday and reposted the Jigra teaser that Alia Bhatt and co-star Vedang Raina had shared. Shraddha, ever the supportive colleague, tagged her brother Siddhanth Kapoor in the post, playfully hinting that this movie was going to be a sibling bonding moment. “Ye toh theatre mein bhai ke sath dekhna hai,” she wrote, complete with emotional and heart emojis.
And as if that wasn’t sweet enough, she went on to gush over the teaser, calling Alia a "kamaal ladki" (what a wonderful girl) and applauding Vasan for the “amazing trailer.” Vasan, clearly moved by the unexpected praise, reposted Shraddha’s message and decided to use the moment for some good ol’ fashioned damage control. He responded, “Thank you Shraddha, hope you and Siddhanth enjoy the film too.
And unrelated but I'll take this opportunity to address – sorry to your fans. Bhool chuk maaf,” adding a flurry of sheepish emojis that practically screamed. The backstory, of course, involves Vasan’s earlier Stree 2 shoutout, where he praised nearly everyone involved—Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, director Amar Kaushik, and producer Dinesh Vijan—except, well, Shraddha.
Fans of the actress didn’t take kindly to this oversight, especially since they had been fiercely rallying for Shraddha during the credit debates following the movie’s box office success. So, naturally, when Vasan forgot her name, they let him know—loud and clear. However, it seems all’s well that ends well.
Alia Bhatt also reposted Shraddha’s compliment with a playful, “Hahaha thank you my blockbuster Stree,” complete with celebratory emojis. And as for Jigra, the film promises to be an emotional ride revolving around a brother-sister relationship, starring Manoj Pahwa alongside Alia and co-produced by Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions..
