What to wear for spring? With changeable weather on the horizon, layers are a sensible style proposition; plenty of which were seen at Cos’s spring/summer 2025 show, held at the Dionyssomarble Quarry in Athens. From loose-fitting, quarter-zipped tops with funnel collars, to draped knitwear, lightweight jackets, enveloping dresses and tailoring, the collection offered effortless pieces that were versatile and easy to mix and match – across both the women’s and men’s collections. As surmised by the inimitable Sharon Stone, a devoted Cos wearer who was seated front row at the event: “I think they’re so clever with their cuts, the quality of the fabric.
.. everything really is built to last.
” She continued: “I’ll wear their pieces over and over again, and when they’re old and tattered, I still wear them to paint in. Comfort is so important to me and it’s the key to unlocking confidence. I’ve always felt confident in pieces that allow me to feel truly myself: listen to yourself and those pieces will have the greatest longevity.
” With a focus on cuts this season, the design approach saw classic shapes reinterpreted with contemporary flair: tank tops arrived in a semi-sheer ribbed mesh fabrication, tailored suiting featured dramatic oversized lapels and cardigans were draped and knotted to create interesting new silhouettes. While everything felt elevated, the looks were grounded in comfort – models walked the runway in a variety of flat shoes, including pointed-toe pumps, mesh ballerinas, sandals and knitted sock boots. There was also a noticeable emphasis on texture, albeit in a very subtle and minimalist manner – several looks combined different materials, like silks, suede and thin knits.
As has been the case for previous Cos runway shows, staged against picturesque backdrops in Rome and New York, customers were able to immediately shop the runway at Cos.com . And if you’re not in the market to buy something, at the very least, the looks can provide new-season styling inspiration.
