A wearable helmet based on Doom: The Dark Ages is now for sale. It costs $175 in the US and $223 elsewhere. This continues the tradition of past helmets made available from Bethesda.
If you wanted to buy a wearable helmet from the Doom franchise you’ve missed two opportunities already: one in 2019 with the Doom Eternal Collector’s Edition and one in 2020 with a classic version of the helmet sold directly by Bethesda. With both of these options long sold out and demanding a pretty penny on the second hand market, there is now a third opportunity to get your head into something from Doom. This third opportunity is based on the helmet that players will get to see in Doom: The Dark Ages when it launches in May this year.
“This piece of art brings an iconic part of the DOOM Slayer’s origin story to the real world. It boasts meticulous attention to detail – from the design, to the textures, to the battle damage. Oh, and it also lights up! See the world through the Slayer’s eyes whenever you put on your DOOM: The Dark Ages Wearable Helmet Replica! But be warned: it might make you feel a righteous wrath! Make sure you aim that at Hell’s hordes,” reads the official description of the bundle.
And yes the helmet is sold in a bundle with the pre-order store pages already live for the US and the EU. In America the helmet is priced at $175 while Europe is charged $223. Just remember that American pricing doesn’t include sales tax, which is likely where the price difference comes from.
Those wanting to make the purchase should check that delivery is supported where they live. Aside from the helmet, buyers will also get a metal keycard and a set of three patches for their money. You’ll be trying to unlock blue doors with this blue keycard and the three patches have iron-on backings so you don’t need to sow to attach them where you want.
The helmet is, of course, the main selling point here and a press release we received reveals a bit more about it. There’s just one size available, made to fit the heads of most adults, with the outside dimensions measuring in at 29.3 x 36.
2 x 32.7 centimetres. The opening which you need to get your head through is 17.
5 x 24.3 centimetres (WXL), so keep that in mind. An adjustable band also helps keep the helmet on once you’re wearing it, which helps spread out the 1.
35 kilogram weight of this collectible. The aforementioned lighting is provided by LEDs placed in the front, back and both sides of the piece. Two AA batteries are needed to light things up and they are not included.
As mentioned pre-orders are open now with the helmets expected to start shipping in May, the same month that The Dark Ages will go live. The post Here’s another chance to get a wearable Doom helmet appeared first on Hypertext..
