The latest lineup of the Democrat and Chronicle's All-Greater Rochester high school sports teams has an addition. Girls Wrestling moves the number of 2024-25 Winter Teams to 15, joining boys and girls alpine skiing, girls and boys basketball, boys and girls bowling, girls and boys indoor track, girls and boys Nordic skiing, boys swimming, hockey, large and small school boys wrestling.There are 12 all-stars on this very first AGR Girls Wrestling Team, including the wrestler of the year.
A coach of the year also has been selected. One wrestler turned down the distinction. Most of the teams are put together by votes from coaches in Section V.
High school sportswriters Justin Ritzel, Marquel Slaughter and James Johnson also provide input. Some of the teams, including indoor track and wrestling, are shaped by results at the most important meets of the season.Congratulations to all of the members of the 2024-25 AGR Winter Teams, including the newcomers in girls wrestling.
