Helldivers 2 has been one of the best and biggest games of 2024 so far, but the momentum has slowed down recently. Fortunately, Arrowhead has been listening to the community, and they have provided a roadmap for new updates that are on the way over the next two months. Something fans would like to see fixed, or at least changed, is the “ most annoying death” in Helldivers 2 as it makes no sense and is “literally impossible to prevent”.

Arrowhead has provided an update on their 60-day roadmap , and this includes the release date for the game’s next update, September 17th. This update will improve the game’s atrocious balancing as Arrowhead has confirmed it is focused on balance fixes along with reworks for enemies. Hopefully the update will also fix the community’s issues with the game repeatedly crashing .

While weapon balancing and enemy fine tuning is appreciated, another bane within the Helldivers 2 community is deaths caused by ragdoll physics. Helldivers 2 fans bemoan “flaming ragdoll” death On the Helldivers subreddit, OP ExcellentDeer2 shared a post titled, “ I can immediately put out fires by diving , shouldn’t getting ragdolled and tumbling around on the ground do the same thing?”. The post is accompanied by a clip showing the OP getting eliminated through an explosion that set them ablaze while ragdolling down a hill.

The post has received over 3,000 upvotes as of writing, and most of the comments agree that it feels cheap. Dubbed the “flaming ragdoll,” one of the top replies says it’s “one of the most annoying deaths” in the game, to which another user replied, “It’s literally impossible to prevent”. Another user elaborated, “It especially sucks when you have just enough health left to dive and survive after ragdolling, but your character gets stuck in the ‘get up’ animation and dies to that little bit of extra time that they’re out of your control.

They just stand up and then flop over while you’re powerless. It looks ridiculous and is absolutely frustrating”. Many users echoed the sentiment, “I’ve died many times because I was ragdolled onto the ground and unable to regain control of my character in time to put the fire out”.

Another user said, “Same thing happens if you’re using the jump pack when on fire. It’s a death sentence with no way to put it out, really annoying”. Fans are hoping some fix can be implemented within the next update, but it’s unclear how the issue can be resolved.

One user hilariously commented, “Now we’ll see in the next patch, ‘To fix an inconsistency in the way fire behaves, diving prone will no longer extinguish burning Helldivers, bringing it in line with how ragdolling works'”.
