Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has been full of praise for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado after handing the youngster his senior debut for La Roja. Casado appeared as a substitute in the win over Denmark last time out and will be hoping for more minutes against Switzerland on Monday. De la Fuente made it clear just how impressed he’s been by Casado and revealed what makes him so special.

“He is a fantastic footballer. I didn’t know him personally and he is a very sensible and mature lad,” he told a press conference. “These are the details that he has that make him perform so well under such great demands.

“He has a great future. In line with what I was saying, we are not surprised. I claim that these footballers need opportunities.

” Casado has even been tipped to start next time out for Spain as Martin Zubimendi will miss out due to injury..
