3 (Korea Bizwire) — HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) said Friday it aims to win over US$18 billion worth of orders this year, partly by focusing on high-end and environmentally friendly ships. This year’s annual order target of $18.



12 billion is 34 percent higher than last year’s target of $13.5 billion, but 12 percent lower than the amount actually secured last year at $20.56 billion, the company said in a regulatory filing.

HD KSOE is a subholding company under HD Hyundai, formerly known as Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings. HD KSOE has three affiliates — HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co.

By affiliate, HD Hyundai Heavy aims to win $9.75 billion worth of ship orders this year, with HD Hyundai Samho and HD Hyundai Mipo targeting $4.57 billion and $3.
