The Penguin If you were looking for further evidence that it was absolutely time to move past the DCEU, The Penguin, the spin-off of The Batman, and one of the only post-DCEU projects out so far, now officially has better reviews than that entire era of DC. The Penguin has a 94% which edges out every other project, TV or film, in the DCEU, even James Gunn’s own. Here’s the full list, and I figured I might as well throw The Batman in there for reference.

The Penguin There is at least one higher scored DC project, one disconnected from essentially everything else in all universes. That would be Doom Patrol , which ended its three season run with a 98% score overall. Very impressive.

James Gunn’s DCU gets into some odd crossover territory where the next season of Peacemaker will be DCU. And apparently the DCEU’s Blue Beetle is staying as the same actor. Amanda Waller of Peacemaker and both Suicide Squads will stay the same too.

But the DCU officially kicks off July 11, 2025 with the new Superman. When we return to Matt Reeves’ Batman universe, that will be October 2, 2026 for The Batman 2. There are reportedly going to be other spin-off shows besides The Penguin for that “Elseworlds” universe too, in addition to a third and presumably final Batman film.

But the DCU will have its own Batman who will appear in The Brave and the Bold. Reeves reportedly did not want his version of Batman to be the DCU’s, which would allow him and Robert Pattinson more creative freedom. ‘The Perfect Couple’ Dethroned In Netflix’s Top 10 List By A New Show A ‘Huge’ BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Price ‘Surprise’ Is Suddenly About To Hit Trump Vs.

Harris 2024 Polls: Harris Leads In 2 Major Surveys—But Razor-Thin Race In Swing States Penguin has only aired its first episode, and no, its second episode is not tonight despite a move to Sunday, as it will be next Sunday instead, unfortunately. I was hoping for more, but I think everyone who has seen the pilot understand how great this mafia-centric series is destined to be, even if Batman doesn’t end up making more of a cameo than a brief news clip. That seems fine, given how well things are going without him.
