HBO Max Schedule September 2-8 2024: New TV Shows & Movies Being Added By Starting September 2, HBO Max viewers can catch Drive My Car, a Japanese drama film about Yusuke Kafuku, a stage actor and director coping with his wife’s death. Kafuku takes a directing job for Uncle Vanya at a festival in Hiroshima and befriends Misaki, who helps him open up about his life. On September 6, The Boy and the Heron will arrive on HBO Max.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, this film won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2023. It tells the story of Mahito, who moves from Tokyo to his stepmother Natsuko’s rural home. His life changes dramatically when he discovers a strange dimension with a gray heron calling him the “long-awaited one.



” Also releasing this week is Triple 9. Triple 9 is an action-adventure crime film about a gang of criminals and corrupt police officers who plan a cop’s murder to remove obstacles for their biggest heist.
