Michelle Williams plays Molly and Jenny Slate plays Nikki in this adaptation of the podcast created by Nikki Boyer and Molly Kochan, who died in 2019 from metastatic breast cancer. The miniseries features eight episodes, all debuting simultaneously.The show follows Molly, who receives a Stage IV breast cancer diagnosis and decides to end her 15-year marriage.

She begins exploring her sexuality in the time she has left. The real Molly Kochan co-created the original podcast and said, “I literally wanted to hump everything and everyone that I saw,” describing a hormone treatment that unexpectedly heightened her libido. (via Time)Molly’s exploration includes relationships with men she meets online, including one who wants to be treated like a pet dog.

Nikki Boyer said the character was based on a real person Kochan met who asked to live in a cage in her home. Boyer stated, “When Molly felt out of control, she did really, really fun stuff with men.”Production began in March 2024 in New York City.
