Rupert Grint, the actor famed for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, has been hit with a hefty tax bill of over $2.3 million after losing a dispute with the UK tax office (HM Revenue and Customs). The star was slapped with the order to pay up in 2019 following an HMRC probe into his 2011-12 tax return.
Grint had banked a cool $5.8 million (£4.5 million) from a company handling his business matters as "consideration for rights, records and goodwill" linked to his acting work, which he claimed should be taxed under capital gains.
However, tax officials insisted it was income, demanding an extra $2,285,609 (£1,801,060) in tax. Despite his legal team's efforts to overturn the decision at a First-Tier Tribunal hearing in London late last year, Judge Harriet Morgan ruled against Grint, declaring the cash "is taxable as income" because it "derived substantially the whole of its value from the activities of Grint" and was "otherwise realized" as income during the disputed tax year. Liam Payne listed his $4.

One flabbergasted user exclaimed: "I was today years old when I found out Georgia from Angus, thongs and perfect snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011 ? ? ? ?" Grint opened up about their bond in an interview with Glamour, sharing: "It's a very natural thing - we're just best friends.
We're kind of the same person; we think the same way. That's always made it work - that's why it's lasted. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it works and it's great.
" Wedding bells seemed to be in the air in 2019 when the two were spied donning bands that sparked matrimonial speculation, but reps quashed the whispers asserting no secret vows had been exchanged. Come May 2020, the lovebirds embraced parenthood with baby Wednesday Grint's arrival. Grint took to Instagram for his debut, punctuating it with an adorable introduction to little Wednesday.
He penned: "Hey Instagram...
