HBO has officially named several actors taking on iconic roles in its upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation, and fans are already voicing a range of reactions online. The series, which was confirmed earlier this year, will feature John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore , Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Luke Thallon is set to portray Professor Quirrell, while Paul Whitehouse will take on the role of Argus Filch.

Pepperidge Farm remembers,” one user quipped, referencing a previous promise about the show’s faithfulness to the original novels. HBO Max has not yet announced who will play the central trio made up of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger , and Ron Weasley, but that update is expected soon.
Filming is currently set to begin this summer..
