A young actor's dreams were cut short when he was fatally stabbed days after wrapping up filming on the sixth Harry Potter film. Robert Knox played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Though it was a small role, he has the possibility of becoming a big star one day like co-stars Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson.

But on May 24, 2008, the 18-year-old was stabbed outside a pub in London, England. He was allegedly trying to shield his younger brother, Jamie, from the attack. Harry Potter fans' 'beautiful' tribute to Maggie Smith at Universal Studios has people in tears Karl Bishop, 21, was charged with the murder.

During his trial, prosecutors claimed that the stabbing was done out of revenge after he lost a fight to Knox and some of his friends a week prior. According to the BBC , Bishop reportedly said: "I'm going to come back next week and someone's going to die." Before the stabbing, Knox and Bishop had a run in earlier in the night which led to Bishop heading home to arm himself with two knives.

The Times stated that four of Knox's friends were injured in the attack and one of them suffered permanent spinal damage. Knox was stabbed five times, with one of the stabs hitting a major artery. Allegedly when Bishop was told he was charged with the murder, he told the police: "Yeah? Sweet.

" Police officer Craig Reid said in court that the accused had "no remorse." "There was no real reaction to being told that he was being arrested for murder," Reid said. During Bishop's sentencing, a judge said to him: "I do not think it is proved that you intended to kill Robert Knox.

The truth is that you simply could not care less whether you killed him or not." Bishop was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison months before the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Knox was already set to reprise his role in the next Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I.

Before his role in Harry Potter, he had a few small roles in television shows like After You're Gone.
