Both presidential candidates are attempting to court Arab and Muslim voters in a last ditch effort before the election. The Kamala Harris campaign has struggled to distance itself from the Biden administration's policy on the Israel- Hamas War, which the Donald Trump campaign has tried to exploit. The Harris campaign and its surrogates have expressed sympathy for both sides but have urged voters to not have a "Goldilocks complex" in the high stakes election.

Northern Gaza close to extinction as everyone at risk of 'imminent' death Iran threatens Israel with 'crushing response' as region on brink of all-out war Former President Barack Obama recently reminded a crowd in Milwaukee that one of Trump's first major actions in office was enacting a Muslim ban. "Maybe you're Muslim-American or Jewish-American and you are heartbroken and furious about the ongoing bloodshed in the Middle East and worried about the rise of antisemitism," he said. Kamala Harris: This year has been difficult given the scale of death and destruction in Gaza and given the civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon.

Who sat down for pleasantries with Holocaust deniers, who said that there were very fine people on both sides of a white supremacist rally?" Yet many Arab and Muslim voters have reported feeling morally conflicted and ambivalent about the two major party candidates because of the Biden administration's policy and iron clad support for Israel. At a Sunday evening rally in Lansing, Michigan, a swing state with a sizable Arab and Muslim population, the vice president made a plea to Michigan voters: "This year has been difficult given the scale of death and destruction in Gaza and given the civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon.

It is devastating and as president I will do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza." More than 100,000 voters voted undecided in the Democratic primary over the Israel- Hamas War. Scores of more Palestinians and now Lebanese citizens have been killed as the Middle East teeters on all-out-war.

Jeet Heer, a reporter for The Nation, said about Harris' plea: "The NY Times reports, "The Trump campaign’s research found that up-for-grabs voters were about six times as likely as other battleground-state voters to be motivated by their views of Israel’s war in Gaza." The worry is Harris started too late." DON'T MISS.

Trump also reportedly tapped his daughter Tiffany's father-in-law, Massad Boulos, of Lebanese descent, to court Arab and Muslim voters in Michigan behind the scenes. Trump will make his final campaign stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Monday evening whereas Harris will stop in Philadelphia.
