THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rural SP K S Sudarshan said that he cannot publicize the statements of Harikumar, the accused in the Balaramapuram murder case. He told media that the investigation so far has shown that the accused is involved in the murder. In order to understand things in detail, scientific tests need to be conducted.
Harikumar was arrested after convinced of his role in the crime. The SP also clarified that the deleted WhatsApp chats will be retrieved. Harikumar is presently being grilled by the SP.
The interrogation proceedings are being recorded on camera. The reason behind the murder is still unclear. The child's mother Sreethu is also under suspicion.
Devendu, daughter of Sreethu and Sreejith, who live in a rented house in Kottukalkonam, was murdered yesterday. Sreethu's younger brother Harikumar (25) was arrested by the Balaramapuram police. During interrogation, it became clear that he committed the murder to get rid of her husband Sreejith, due to his excessive attachment to his sister.
