A Hampshire charity has launched a programme to unite businesses and local charities. Community First's 'Building Connections' initiative provides a platform for businesses to partner with charities through volunteering, skill-sharing, donations, and training. The programme aims to create mutually beneficial partnerships, offering businesses a chance to demonstrate social responsibility while reaping benefits.
It highlights how employee involvement in charitable work can boost workplace culture, improve staff retention, and attract new talent. Charities, in turn, gain valuable support from skilled volunteers, who can offer expertise in areas like strategic planning, team management, and governance. Tim Houghton, chief executive of Community First, said: "Collaboration between businesses and charities can create real positive change.
"'Building Connections' is about more than just giving back – it’s about building lasting partnerships that benefit the community. "We’re excited to see the positive impact this programme will have." Businesses already participating include Wates, Parker Jones, and Autrac.
The first meeting is scheduled for June..
