A Hampshire charity has launched a programme to unite businesses and local charities. Community First's 'Building Connections' offers businesses a straightforward way to support charities through volunteering, skill-sharing, donations and training. The programme aims to create mutually beneficial partnerships, allowing businesses to demonstrate social responsibility while gaining real benefits.
Involving employees in charitable work can enhance workplace culture, improve staff retention and attract new talent. It also provides an opportunity for businesses to raise their profile and show customers their commitment to making a difference. The initiative provides charities with valuable support from skilled volunteers, who can offer expertise in areas such as strategic planning, team management and governance.
Businesses can also provide essential resources, time and donations to help charities grow and enhance their community impact. Tim Houghton, chief executive of Community First, said: "Collaboration between businesses and charities can create real positive change. "'Building Connections' is about more than just giving back – it’s about building lasting partnerships that benefit the community.
We’re excited to see the positive impact this programme will have." Businesses already participating in the programme include Wates, Parker Jones and Autrac. The first meeting is scheduled for June, so organisations are encouraged to sign up now.
