Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Center for Model Schools selected Hamilton Elementary School in Moline as one of its 2025 Model Schools. The annual Model School awards honor forward-thinking schools that inspire innovation by implementing creative strategies to improve student success. Hamilton and other recipients will be formally recognized at the 2025 Model Schools Conference this June in Washington D.
C. Hamilton Elementary School staff Hamilton Elementary School (Moline) staff pose after earning a 2025 "Model School" designation from the Center for Model Schools. "We are honored to be recognized as a Model School," Principal Lynsy Oswald said in a district news release.
"Every child deserves a learning environment that is welcoming to all families, has high expectations for student achievement and has a strong sense of belonging. Our staff goes above and beyond to provide this. I feel very fortunate to work with the best.
" As part of the Model School recognition, Hamilton leaders will present on the school's success at the 2025 conference. Last year, the Center for Model Schools designated Moline-Coal Valley schools as an "Innovative District." Deputy superintendent Brian Prybil, former Bicentennial Elementary school principal Steven Etheridge and Oswald also led a presentation titled "Prioritizing Culture to Drive Student Achievement" at the annual conference.
