PEPPERELL — It was a not-so-scary day at the Albert Harris Center / Pepperell Senior Center when almost 50 ghouls celebrated Halloween. “This Halloween, the seniors were thrilled to welcome back the Moppet School preschool students for a fun-filled trick-or-treating event which included treats and crafts,” said Joanna Reagan, a member of the Albert Harris Center / Pepperell Senior Center. “The adorable ‘creatures’ smiled brightly and sang loudly as they treated the seniors to festive songs.
” Former kindergarten teacher MaryAnn Hagan was thrilled, stating “the children brought back happy memories of my teaching years.” Visitors were also treated to beautifully decorated rooms at the senior center, all with a festive theme. “We have a blast decorating,” said Donna Ray Bertram, a member of the Albert Harris Center / Pepperell Senior Center’s Decorating Committee.
“A group of us enjoy thinking of creative ways to promote the holidays.” A delicious Halloween luncheon consisting of chicken parmigiana, pasta, homemade rolls, and homemade chocolate cake was also served. The seniors showed their creative costumes during the Halloween parade.
Gift cards were raffled, with proceeds to raise money for the Friends of the Pepperell Seniors. “The seniors enjoyed singing old-fashioned songs with DJ Tommy Rull,” Reagan said. “A spooktacular time was had by all.
