was forced to film alongside wild bears for perhaps her most dangerous role yet. For her new film Never Let Go, Berry told Entertainment Weekly: “We were really in the woods in the middle of nowhere in a house that we found. That helped a lot because sometimes, if we shot in the daytime, with the way the lighting would come through it felt magical, like you were in the most lush fairytale world.

” However, at night the location took a dark turn: “It became the scariest place because there were sounds we didn’t recognise, we didn’t know what those animals were. There were bears out there! We had bear spray all around because you never knew when a bear would roll through our set, which happened many times.” Berry’s fear helped her get into character and she admitted everyone on set “had to feel all of that” so they could “play these characters”.

Halle explained: “We had to feel the wonder of the world and we had to feel the fear of the world. The woods became a character in and of itself.” Never Let Go is a psychological horror film starring the Catwoman actress alongside Anthony B.

Jenkins, Percy Daggs III, Percy Daggs IV, Stephanie Lavigne, Christin Park and Matthew Kevin Anderson. The IMDb description of the upcoming film reads: ”A family that has been haunted by an evil spirit for years. Their safety and their surroundings come into question when one of the children questions if the evil is real.

” Never Let Go is directed by Alexandre Aja and scheduled for release on 27 September. Berry plays June, also known as Mama to her sons with whom she lives in a cabin cut off from the rest of the world. Mama is convinced that “Evil” took over the world and while searching for food in the woods that surround their house, the family tie themselves together with rope and all promise to “never let go”.

“I love when I play a protective, strong mother role. That sits very well in my body, but this was a chance to play a darker version of a strong mother,” Berry explained to Entertainment Weekly. She revealed that her character has “demons of her own” including “generational trauma,” which led Berry to believe the role would be “an interesting challenge”.
