By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 11: Half a dozen of highways have come to a complete halt because of the rainfall since Wednesday evening in major parts of the country. Light to medium rainfall has been taking place in many parts of the country since Wednesday evening, resulting in the complete and partial halt of the highways and some road connectivity, according to Nepal Police.

According to a notice issued by the police headquarters on Thursday, while in some places, traffic has been resumed one-way after maintenance and removal of debris. According to the update issued by Nepal Police as of 12:00 pm, mainly landslides have affected highways in 13 different locations. Among them, six locations are fully blocked, while six others are operating in a one-way.



In one location, the landslide has been cleared, and the road has been fully reopened. According to the police, the Rapti Highway in Rukum West is fully blocked due to floods. Similarly, the road section in Kalikot from Surkhet and the Karnali Highway section is completely blocked.

The Surkhet–Humla road in Surkhet and the Jajarkot road are also fully obstructed. Likewise, one-way traffic has resumed along B.P Highway in Roshi Rural Municipality-8 at Charsayabeshi of Kavre, Roshi Rural Municipality-7 at Ghumaaune, Piple at Roshi Rural Municipality-11 and Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 at Krishnabhir in Dhading along Prithvi Highway.
