People living in Hailsham will benefit from the new service which aims to improve cash access. Personal and business customers will be able to use basic banking services with assistance from a rotation of staff from major banks. The hub, which will be delivered by Cash Access UK, will also contain a Post Office counter.
It comes as multiple bank branches have shut their doors as people shift towards online banking. In September last year, a Lloyds and Halifax branch closed in Hailsham as Lloyds Banking Group reported the use of the banks had fallen by an average of 54 per cent in the last five years.
