Gym romance to underworld powerhouse: The rise of Delhi's 'lady don' Kiran Khatri from gangster husband's shadow

NEW DELHI: In a dramatic tale of crime and love, Kiran Khatri has emerged as one of Delhi’s most notorious women crime bosses. Her rise to infamy began in 2016 when she crossed paths with gangster Kapil Mann at a gym in Rohini’s Sector 11. What started as a chance encounter soon turned into a romantic relationship, and the two got married at a temple in Haryana.

However, their partnership extended far beyond matrimony — Kiran quickly became Mann's trusted accomplice, climbing the ranks of the city’s underworld . Kiran, then started managing an intricate criminal network spanning jails, streets, and underworld hideouts. Together with her husband, Kiran Khatri was at the helm of various illegal operations, manipulating gang dynamics, stoking vendettas, and orchestrating hits.



Even when Mann's luck ran out and he was arrested in September 2019, Kiran continued to mastermind his operations from the outside. Using her wit and charm, she maintained her influence over the gang, frequently visiting Mann in jail to plot their next moves. The couple's criminal operations took a deadly turn earlier this year when Kiran was allegedly involved in the killing of one Suraj, an airline crew member in Noida, in January, this year.

According to Delhi Police , the murder was carried out as a vendetta against Suraj’s brother, Parvesh Mann, a rival gangster. The plot was said to have been masterminded by Kapil Mann, with Kiran executing the plan on his behalf. On September 18, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police finally caught up with Kiran, arresting her after months of surveillance.

Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Bhatia revealed that the police had been tracking her movements for a while, with a team led by inspector Sandeep Tushir conducting several raids across Haryana before nabbing her..
