Against the gloomy setting of a cursed ocean, the film narrates the curse of a forbidden fishing village named Thoovathur. This is GV Prakash’s 25th film as a hero, and Kingston features Divya Bharathi, the actress’s second film with him after Bachelor.

He was a fisherman in Kingston until he realized that he was a human smuggling sea cucumber under the pretense of fishing, then he searched haunted waters where conflict with supernatural elements and high-seas tension began. Though the film had a decent theatrical run, it directly premiered on ZEE5 and ZEE Tamil, with the additional version for Telugu viewers included on the OTT platform. The cast also includes Chetan, Azhagam Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and other characters.
