Guwahati Police Bust Burglary Gang, Arrest Five Suspects During Raid

Guwahati police arrested five burglary suspects linked to multiple crimes, recovering stolen property and a vehicle. The gang is believed to have carried out at least nine criminal activities.

Satgaon police arrested five men suspected to be part of a that has been involved in a series of and other criminal activities. This was after the police raided their hideout on Monday night, which also led to the recovery of stolen properties and seizure of a vehicle used in committing the crime. The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Abu Bakkar Siddiqui of Satgaon; 26-year-old Nitul Ali of Six Mile; 21-year-old Rahul Ahmed of Sarthebari; 22-year-old Najir Ali of Dispur and 38-year-old Md Sono Ali of Barpeta.

They were nabbed after being caught linked to a recent burglary of a shop at Baghorbori. Police officers also found two printers stolen from there during the raid. Apparently, Siddiqui led a gang that hired a vehicle from a local agency for conducting their criminal activities.



Even the hired vehicle has been seized during the probe. Preliminary investigation reveals that Siddiqui had planned at least nine criminal incidents in recent months. Therefore, law enforcement authorities are in much concern about the gang.

The police are continuing their investigation to find out whether more victims exist. The arrested suspects have been taken into legal custody, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the entire criminal network. This is a major breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in Guwahati.
