Read More Travellers will soon be able to drive from Gurugram to Vadodara in just 10 hours—thanks to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, India’s longest and most modern highway. The distance between Gurugram (Haryana) and Vadodara (Gujarat) is around 950 km. Usually, this journey takes about 20 to 22 hours.

This huge leap in travel convenience is made possible by a key section of the expressway near Kota, Rajasthan. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway spans a massive 1,380 km, making it the longest expressway in India. Vehicles on this route can drive at speeds of up to 120 km/h, helping people save both time and fuel.

As per TOI, this mega project is being built with an investment of Rs 95,000 crore and passes through six states—Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Furthermore, the expressway is also a step towards eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has ensured the use of green technologies in construction.

Special measures have been taken to protect wildlife, especially in areas near the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve. The expressway includes animal corridors, tunnels, and noise barriers to reduce disturbance to animals and preserve the natural habitat. The entire expressway is expected to be operational by October 2025.
