Gulshan Devaiah reveals Ranveer Singh's off-screen persona: “He’s very energetic, like a true movie star”

Ranveer Singh is always seen in a lively avatar. While the actor maintains this image when the cameras are around, Gulshan Devaiah recently said that the actor is the same off screen as well. Gulshan was discussing about his shooting experience with Ranveer on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, claiming that they had a "good professional relationship." He smiled and mentioned that some people perceive Ranveer's demeanor as "attention seeking." He also remembered how Ranveer would cry in the corner after an intense moment.In a chat with Siddharth Kanna on his Youtube Channel, he said, “He is very energetic. He has always been like this, extremely energetic. You can call it attention seeking but some people have that thing. He projects himself like a movie star that’s because he believes he is a movie star.” Gulshan recalled being in an acting workshop with Ranveer for two weeks and said that even back then, he walked like a movie star. “The way he would walk, even back then, you could see he is a star because that’s how he looks at himself.”He said that they were competitive with one another, "but not in a negative way." "Bhansali sir was applauding me, but Ranveer hadn't begun filming yet. So he says, 'Sir was raving about you'. Maine kaha bhai, kuch jalne ki boo aa rahi. Par mazak kar rahe the hum (I said I smelled something burning, but we were only kidding),” he said.Gulshan then addressed Prashant Narayan's comments about Ranveer Singh, in which the actor implied that Ranveer was "lying" about his "dark phase" during Padmaavat, and stated that each actor has his own approach. He then revealed that on Bhansali's sets, Ranveer would occasionally cry in a corner following an emotional sequence. “On the sets of Ram Leela, sometimes after doing an emotional scene, he would sit in a corner and cry. Now you can look at it as attention seeking, maybe it was. But maybe there is some truth to it also.
