Groups can apply for Boulder County opioid abatement funds

Government and community groups can apply for opioid abatement funds for programs that help residents struggling with substance use and related mental health challenges. Groups can apply for funding for programming in substance use prevention and education; harm reduction efforts; treatment; and recovery. Applications are due by Oct.

10 on the Boulder County opioid abatement fund website. The Boulder County government expects to receive $30 million between 2022 and 2038 from national lawsuit settlements against manufacturers, distributors and pharmacies related to opioid prescription drugs. County workers created an opioid plan for the next three years for such programming.



The plan also gave statistics from 2022, which showed 2,567 opioid deaths recorded in Boulder County that year..
