Griezmann rallies Atletico Madrid to 2-1 Champions League victory against Leipzig

ANKARA French attacker Antoine Griezmann rallied Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid to a 2-1 UEFA Champions League victory against German Bundesliga club Leipzig on Thursday. Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko got visitors Leipzig off to a dream start with an early goal in the fourth minute at Estadio Metropolitano. Griezmann leveled for Atletico with a well-placed shot in the 28th minute.

Uruguayan defender Jose Maria Gimenez nodded Griezmann's cross into the lower left corner to score and completed the comeback for the hosts in the 90th minute. Following the results, German side Bayern Munich top the league phase standings with a goal difference, in front of Scotland’s Celtic and Germany's Bayer Leverkusen respectively, all with three points each..
