A grieving mother whose son tragically took his own life has revealed her latest tribute as the second anniversary of his death approaches. Tyrone Ward, known as Ty, was found dead at Mousehold Heath in Norwich on April 27, 2023, at the age of just 23. A talented musician who studied at Access to Music in the city, the youngster died following a lengthy battle with mental health and past traumas.
Now, following what would have been his 25th birthday, his mother Maria has revealed her latest touching tribute as she looks to preserve his legacy. She said she plans to accompany the striking image - which was drawn by Norwich-based Burch Tattoos - with her son's date of birth and death and a poignant message in Mr Ward's own handwriting from a note he left ahead of his death.
It will read: "I'll be watching with a smile." Maria Ward's tattoo of her son Tyrone (Image: Maria Ward) Mrs Ward said: "When I looked down at the tattoo for the first time after having it done, I broke down. It was an incredibly emotional experience.
" An inquest into Mr Ward's death will be held later this year, following a series of delays. Mrs Ward said she hoped the hearing would answer a range of questions about the mental health treatment he received during his struggles. She added: "People like Ty, who do not always say anything, are the ones that don't get the help they need. "Telling his story will be a really personal experience for me, but I hope one that can help other people."
