Gridlock as one of Kent’s busiest routes shuts amid police incident

A major route has been closed due to a police incident. Traffic has been brought to a standstill on the A2 westbound in Canterbury. The closure stretches from the junction for the A2050 and the A28.

A National Highways spokesman said on X: “The A2 is closed westbound between the A2050 and the A28 in Canterbury due to a police-led incident. “More information to follow.” Emergency services have been contacted for further details.
