Green India Challenge (GIC) aims to plant one crore saplings in Assam by 2030. Forestman of India and Padmasri awardee Jadhav Payeng participated in the tree plantation programme organised by the Green India Challenge in Tamalpur in Assam. Local MLA Jolen Daimary along with hundreds of citizens also planted the saplings.

Speaking on the occasion, Jadhav (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Payeng said that protection of nature and environmental education should be taught as a mandatory subject in the school curriculum.
