Horselunges Manor in East Sussex has been put up for sale.

A Grade-I listed medieval manor frequented by Led Zeppelin is on sale for £3,250,000. Horselunges Manor, a six-bed detached house in Hellingly, near Hailsham, dates all the way back to the 15th century. The manor was formerly the residence of Peter Grant, the manager of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, and featured in their 1976 concert film The Song Remains the Same.

The house has six bedrooms, a two-bedroom cottage, moated gardens and grounds and a swimming pool with a pool house. The property's ground floor windows have been intricately restored, adorned with stained glass of heraldic designs, reflecting the manor's historical architecture. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a studded oak front door leading to an entrance hall that opens into the great parlour, characterised by high ceilings and a massive oak timber framework with a deep recessed brick fireplace.

Adjacent to the great parlour is a study, featuring oak panelled walls, a built-in bookcase, and a stone and brick fireplace. The dining room continues the theme of grandeur, with high ceilings and massive exposed timber framework. The kitchen/breakfast room is equipped with a granite work surface, four-oven gas-fired Aga, ceramic hob, integrated Siemens oven and dishwasher, and ample storage.

Ont his floor is the master bedroom suite, which is above the great hall. A concealed door leads to the dressing room and bathroom with an oval bath.

The cottage annexe, a self-contained, single-storey brick annexe attached to the main house, includes a sitting room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a shower room. The manor's grounds include formal gardens, sweeping lawns, flower and rose borders, clipped box hedges, and a greenhouse. The estate also has several outbuildings, including a self-contained flat and a garage for eight cars. Beyond the formal gardens, the property extends to about 24.5 acres of farmland, currently laid to pasture with woodland shaws.

Sir Nikolaus Pevsner, in his monumental book The Buildings of England, described Horselunges Manor as "one of the most spectacular of Sussex timber houses"..
