ST. LOUIS — Grace Meat + Three, the acclaimed restaurant featuring fried chicken and fish in the Grove district of Forest Park Southeast, has announced plans for a second location in Crestwood. Grace Chicken + Fish will open at 8654 Watson Road, which is currently occupied by King Edward’s Chicken and Fish.

King Edward’s announced Sunday on social media that its Crestwood location will close Feb. 18. The King Edward’s at 1201 South Duchesne Drive in St.

Charles will remain open. “We most sincerely thank all who have come through our doors over the past 18 years to support our effort and share a smile,” King Edward's owners Randy and Gabrielle Shore said in the closing announcement. Grace Chicken + Fish will focus on the “core” menu items from the original Grove location, including fried chicken, catfish and shrimp, with side dishes, milkshakes and hand pies.

According to Monday’s announcement, Grace foresees opening three to five additional Grace Chicken + Fish locations in the coming years. The announcement said the Crestwood location will open in 2025. “We see Grace Chicken + Fish as the future of the brand,” chef and owner Rick Lewis said in a statement.

“We won’t be changing anything at the original Grace Meat + Three location, but this streamlined concept allows us to cater to our guests in a way that feels comforting and inviting, but also casual enough for any occasion.” Lewis opened Grace Meat + Three in 2017 at 4270 Manchester Avenue. Previously, Lewis co-founded the Midtown restaurant Southern (now closed) with the Pappy’s Smokehouse team.

In 2014, Lewis was a James Beard Awards semifinalist for “Rising Star Chef of the Year” nationwide for his work at Quincy Street Bistro (now closed) in Princeton Heights..
