The decision came at the weekend when the chairman, General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, RTD, stormed some of the illegal checkpoints spread along the highways of Lau and Yorro local government councils of the state. Emphasizing the need to streamline revenue collection efforts, he explained that legal checkpoints would be consolidated to ensure proper oversight and accountability.

While also verifying the number of legitimate, state-approved revenue vendors, Faransa stressed that designated collection points would simplify the revenue process. He warned illegal operators to desist from their activities or face serious consequences. “Those involved in these unauthorized revenue collections will regret their actions if they do not stop immediately,” he cautioned.

He further disclosed that the state government is working on strategies to regulate the growing number of revenue vendors, ensuring that their services are transparent and contribute positively to the state’s development.
