Federal government granted approval to construction of Tunnel Boring Project with a cost of Rs49 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. According to the details, this project was presented in Central Development Working Party (CDWP). After getting approval from CDWP, the project was forwarded to Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

It was a difficult task to get the project approved from CDWP before its approval from ECNEC. A mega-sewerage line will be laid with the help of latest technology from Larex Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi. The funds will be provided by AIIB Bank through soft loan scheme.



The mega project which will start from Larex Colony to cover Shima Pahari, Queens Road, Punjab Assembly, AG Office, Chaubarji via Railway Colony, Sham Nagar and Gulshan-e-Ravi Dispotal Station. On the other side, the project will go through Gulberg, Zafar Ali Road, Shadman, LOS, Samanabad and will conclude at Gulshan-e-Ravi. The project which will cover an area of 28 kilometers will not affect any infrastructure no new roads will be constructed in the city.

Prior to start of this project, WASA obtained approval for PC-1 project and started work with a foreign company on its designing and feasibility..
