Gov candidate Mark Robinson refuses to leave race despite backlash over ‘disturbing comments on Nude Africa porn forum’

THE lieutenant governor of North Carolina has insisted he's staying in the governor's race despite growing calls for him to drop out after a bombshell report about making graphic comments on a porn forum. Republican Lt. Gov.

Mark Robinson, a top ally of Donald Trump, is accused of praising slavery, making racist remarks about Martin Luther King Jr. and antisemitic comments, as well as posting a series of lewd and pornographic statements. Robinson denied making the statements to CNN , which published the detailed investigation on Thursday and said he has no plans to drop out of the election.



The prominent social conservative, who if elected would be the first African American governor of the Tar Heel State , slammed the sordid reports as "tabloid trash." Still, CNN was able to identify the username under which the comments were made as belonging to Robinson through a shared email address and other personal details. The outlet also reported that all comments were made by Robinson, 56, between 2008 and 2012 on the message boards of a website called Nude Africa - before he entered into politics.

READ MORE ON U.S. POLITICS Under the username "minisoldr," he reportedly described enjoying watching transgender pornography, expressed support for bringing back slavery, made antisemitic slurs, and described himself as a Nazi.

"I'm a black NAZI," he reportedly wrote in a forum discussing black Republicans in October 2010. He also reportedly wrote that same month in another post: "Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves.

" Robinson reportedly added that he would "buy a few" if slavery returned. Most read in The US Sun In March 2012, he reportedly said he would prefer murderous dictator Adolf Hitler in charge instead of then-president Barack Obama. "I'd take Hitler over any of the s*** that's in Washington right now," he is reported to have said.

Other comments included descriptions of "peeping" in women's locker rooms when he was 14. In one comment, he fantasized about how he "sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered." Robinson is also reported to have used homophobic slurs, as well as racial epithets directed at Muslims, Jewish people, and other black people.

On Thursday evening, it was reported that an email address belonging to Robinson was registered on Ashley Madison, a website designed for married people who want to have affairs. An adviser to Robinson confirmed that the email address belongs to the Lt. Gov.

in a piece for Politico . In a video statement released shortly before the reports were published, Robinson denied that he had made the comments, and insisted he was staying in the gubernatorial race. "The things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson," he said.

He added: "We are staying in this race. We are in it to win it." Robinson appeared to accuse his opponent, Democratic candidate for governor in North Carolina Josh Stein, for being the source of the reports.

The U.S. Sun has approached the Robinson and Stein campaigns for comment.

Republican Robinson, who was once described by Donald Trump at a rally as "like MLK on steroids," has been in the news before for controversial comments. During his campaign for lieutenant governor in 2020, Robinson called for a complete abortion ban without any exceptions. Robinson, 56, is the state's first Black nominee from a major party for governor. The Republican politician became known to the public in 2018 after a video of him defending gun rights in the wake of a school shooting went viral. He launched his first political campaign in 2020 and was elected the state's lieutenant governor in 2021.

Robinson is facing Democratic state attorney Josh Stein in the upcoming general election. In March 2024, former president Donald Trump endorsed Robinson for governor and compared him to Martin Luther King Jr. Robinson has been married to his wife, Yolanda, since 1990.

The couple have two children together. He has faced backlash over the years for antisemitic and anti-gay remarks. He's also come under fire for his controversial stances on Covid-19 and abortion.

In August 2024, Robinson made headlines for admitting that he and his wife had an abortion in 1989. Just a month later, he said he would like to see North Carolina's 12-week abortion ban with exceptions lowered to a "zero" week abortion ban. More to follow.
