The good news is top wide receiver Daniel Jackson will play.

The Minnesota Gophers will be without their top running back Thursday night when they open the season against North Carolina. Darius Taylor was officially ruled out about two hours before kickoff. He reportedly suffered a hamstring injury a couple weeks ago, an issue he dealt with last year as well.

His absence means the Gophers will have to rely on transfers Marcus Major and Sieh Bangura, as well as Jordan Nubin. That could be particularly troublesome if the weather negatively impacts the passing game. The good news is top wide receiver Daniel Jackson will play.
