Google Pixel 10 Pro XL price to increase, Pixel Fold to get cheaper

The upcoming Google Pixel 10 series is already creating a buzz, even though its official launch is still some months away. Leaks about the pricing of the new phones have been circulating, offering an early glimpse of what to expect. According to reports, the Pixel 10 Pro XL will likely come with a price increase, while Google might lower the cost of the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold, hinting at possible changes in the company's overall pricing strategy.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL is rumored to be priced at $1,200 (around Rs. 1,03,900), which marks an increase from the $1,100 (roughly Rs. 95,300) starting price of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

This price hike could suggest that Google is adding new features or improvements to the phone, though the exact details remain unclear. On the other hand, the standard Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are expected to maintain similar pricing to their predecessors, meaning the price tags for these models might stay the same. In an interesting twist, Google might lower the price of its Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the company’s foldable phone.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be priced at $1,600 (around Rs. 1,38,600), a reduction of $200 (approximately Rs. 17,300) compared to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

This price cut could be an attempt by Google to make foldable phones more accessible, especially as the market for these devices continues to expand. In fact, there are reports suggesting that Google plans to further reduce the prices of its foldable phones in the future, possibly bringing the cost down to $1,500 (roughly Rs. 1,29,900) by 2028.

This dual-model strategy is expected to continue through to the Pixel 13 series, which is anticipated to launch in 2028.

Google is also reportedly sticking to its usual release schedule, launching four new Pixel models every fall, alongside an affordable A-series model in the spring. The Pixel 10a, Pixel 11a, and Pixel 12a are expected to be priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 43,207), the same as the current Pixel 9a, which launched just last month.

However, it's important to note that these pricing details are still speculative. External factors, such as the recent US tariffs on countries like China, Vietnam, and India, could impact the cost of production and, in turn, the prices of the Pixel 10 series. Google, like other smartphone manufacturers, produces its devices overseas, so these tariffs could influence the final pricing.

As a result, while these rumors give us an idea of what might come, it's best to wait for Google’s official announcement later this year. SEE ALSO: Hackers Exploit Android Flaws; Google Releases Fix For Two Major Security Issues.
