Google is reportedly gearing up to launch a new editing feature in its Photos app. Following the update to version 7.0 for Android, Android Authority and contributor Assemble Debug have found a new option called Ultra HDR under the Adjust feature.

According to the report, the Ultra HDR feature seems to be an enhanced version of the current HDR editing option. While the exact functionality remains unclear since it’s not yet operational, it is anticipated to allow users to adjust the brightness of Ultra HDR photos at a pixel level.Additionally, a new Vibrance button appears next to the Ultra HDR option.

Also, if looked closely, the symbol is the same as the current HDR feature. That suggests Google is likely to rebrand the HDR effect to Vibrance, presumably to avoid confusion with the impending Ultra HDR option. To see the new Vibrance and Ultra HDR editing options, users need to update their Google Photos App to the latest 7.

0 version from the Play Store. The tech giant has been adding new features to its Photos App. Recently, the company rolled out a My Week feature which allows users to share weekly memories with friends and family, similar to Instagram Stories, by selecting and highlighting their favourite photos.

The feature is also available on the desktop version of the Photos app, however, you can only create the album via the mobile app. It works with versions 6.89 or higher.

Apart from this, Google has also rolled out a few minor changes. These include UI modifications for photo details that indicate whether the photo is from an album or a memory, as well as an update to the Places section with a new map at the top. In other news, Google in its attempt to Combat the threats posed by deepfake and AI-generated content on the internet, will soon start showing labels on AI-generated images or even images that are edited using the AI tools.
