Google has launched a special offer giving US college students free access to its advanced AI tool, Gemini Advanced. The offer also includes 2TB of cloud storage and access to other tools like Whisk and NotebookLM Plus. Students can enjoy these benefits until June 30, 2026, but they must sign up by June 30, 2025, to be eligible.
Gemini Advanced is a powerful AI platform that helps students with tasks like research by summarizing large amounts of information quickly and providing easy-to-understand insights. It works well with Google services such as Sheets, Gmail, and Docs. Students can also use the AI to generate multimedia content like videos and podcasts, making it a helpful tool for learning and presenting ideas.
With the added 2TB of storage, students have plenty of room to store projects and assignments. This initiative seems to be Google’s response to competitors like Microsoft’s Copilot and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The company is pushing to integrate AI into the educational environment, where it can assist students directly.
Currently, this offer is only available to students in the United States. Those studying in other countries, including India, cannot access it unless they meet US-specific criteria, like having a .edu email address and being enrolled in a US-based institution.
Indian students can still access similar services through Google’s paid Gemini Advanced option available via the Google One AI Premium Plan, which costs Rs 1,950 per month..
