Google Gemini's integration with Apple Intelligence pushed to 2025

Google and Apple have been in ongoing discussions regarding the incorporation of Gemini into the iOS ecosystem. Nevertheless, the anticipated timeline for this integration is likely to extend into the following year. In his most recent "Power On" newsletter, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman indicated that Apple might grant OpenAI an exclusive period prior to the integration of Gemini.

However, it remains uncertain whether this will take place in the spring, aligning with the release of iOS 18.4, or later during the iOS 19 release cycle. Apple has been reported to be collaborating with various companies to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities.

The technology leader has already partnered with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT into iOS, with this integration currently available in the iOS 18.2 beta, which is scheduled for release in December. Additionally, there are rumors regarding possible collaborations with Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.

In June, Craig Federighi, Apple’s software executive, indicated a desire to integrate Gemini with Apple Intelligence. Furthermore, it has been noted that the company, under Tim Cook's leadership, declined META's proposal to incorporate its AI chatbot, Llama, into the iPhone. Earlier this month, Google introduced a "Utilities" extension for Android users, enhancing their control over alarms, timers, applications, and media.
