He’ll offer up insights every morning on Brad Underwood’s team and college basketball at large: The word out of Ubben Basketball Complex this summer on Ben Humrichous was exceedingly positive.

The 6-foot-9 Evansville transfer impressed the Illinois coaching staff upon his arrival. That he epitomized exactly what Brad Underwood was seeking this offseason — positional size and shooting — was one one thing. That he backed it up was another.

Humrichous averaged 14.7 points and 4.7 rebounds last season at Evansville.

Not bad for a Division I debut after spending the three previous years at the NAIA level. Illinois is counting on the Tipton, Ind., making an impact in Champaign, too.

And word about Humrichous' potential has spread ...

We are not talking enough about @IlliniMBB addition Ben Humrichous and the impact he's going to make in Champaign. Tremendous shooter at 41% from 3 this past season, has evolved his skillset in the offseason and good length at 6-foot-9. Illini staff loves his consistency.
